Application

These Gate Valves are used in pipelines and facilities for water, steam, non-aggressive gases, naphtha, naphtha derivatives and in other power and process installations, in operation conditions up to 800°F (427°C), in accordance with Table No. 1 (see spec sheet). Data included in this table meet the pressure-temperature ratings of ASME B16.34.

Technical Data

The basic dimensions of the Gate Valves are in accordance with Table No. 4 (see spec sheet). Face to face dimensions of the gate valves are in accordance with ASME B16.10. The pipe flanges are regularly furnished faced and drilled in accordance with ASTM B16.5 (see note). The raised face of the pipe flanges are machined in accordance with MSS SP-6.

The wedges are of single wedge flexible type providing greater sealing capabilities and lower torque requirements. Operation is performed by non-rising hand wheel; the closing direction is to the right. Upon request, Gate Valves are made with enclosed gearing. For remote control, these valves can be equipped with Hydraulic, Electric, and Air Operated units.

The wedges are normally faced with 13% chrome, but can provided with standard API trim codes.

The seat rings are normally carbon steel and faced with 13% chrome and Stellite, but standard API trim codes are available.

The Gate Valves are provided with a backseat bushing in the bonnet, enabling replacement of the stem packing when the valve is in wide open position.

Tests

The Gate Valves are hydrostatically and pneumatically tested in accordance with Table No. 2 (spec sheet), meeting the requirements of API 598, MSS SP-61, API 6AF.

Options
Valves can be provided with extended stems, extended Bonnets, NACE MR-01-75, and locking devices.
