Lunkenheimer Class 150 cast stainless steel gate valves are heavily constructed to assure durability. Outside screw and yoke design is ideal for corrosive service. Stem threads are outside the valve, so they are free from damage by corrosive fluids and sediments. The cast grade of austenitic stainless steel is in compliance with ASTM A-351 Grade CF8M. Valves are designed and built to API 603 and tested to API 598 specifications.

Bodies Heavy shell thickness for strength and long lasting service. Accurate integral guide ribs prevent the disc from dragging across the seat.

Bonnets Body-bonnet flange faces are flat, and have acid resistant asbestos gaskets.
Bonnet bolting consists of through-bolts with nuts.

Yokes Integral with bonnet. All yokes have lube fittings.

Stems Heavy Acme threads and liberal engagement with yoke bushing. Tee head stem-disc connection assures maximum strength and minimizes lateral stem loads.

Discs Flexible single wedge discs deflect slightly to conform to the body seat. This construction assures pressure tightness, reduces sticking of disc in the seat and reduces torque needed to operate the valve.

Seat Integral with body.

Backseat Integral with bonnet. Machined shoulder on stem seats against machined backseat in bonnet.

Stuffing boxes Deep to assure pressure tightness and long packing life. Packing is Teflon multi-filament yarn.

Flanges Flanged valve face-to-face length is in accordance with ANSI B16.10. Pipe flange is in accordance with ANSI B16.5 for sizes through 24 NPS. Pipe flanges have a ⅐ inch raised face. Raised faces are machined to a serrated spiral finish which meets requirements of ANSI B16.5, API -600, and MSS-SP-6. To specify flanged valves with other flange facings, refer to pages E11-E12.

Butt weld end Valve end to end length is in accordance with ANSI B16.10 regular (long) pattern. Unless otherwise specified on the purchase order, butt weld end valves will be furnished with ends machined in accordance with ANSI B16.25 for use without backing ring or with split backing ring and to match Schedule 40 connecting pipe.
